How a cell acts

Each turn, every living cell evaluates in priority order: heal a hurt ally → attack an enemy in range → (monsters) eat an adjacent corpse → grab adjacent loot → step toward the nearest target. Loot gives gold. A slain hero leaves a corpse holding its gold; a monster that eats one heals and pockets that gold. Killing a monster hands its gold to the hero who struck the blow. A wounded town or den taxes the gold of its own units standing adjacent, turning it into repairs.
